From early intaglio engravings to her signature impressionistic charcoal and watercolor, Anne creates striking, intimate portraits that celebrate endangered species in their natural habitats.
For more than four decades, Anne has traveled to Africa and remote wild regions around the world, studying wildlife firsthand and documenting what she calls her Portraits of the Wild. These journeys fuel both her art and her lifelong mission to protect vulnerable species through education and advocacy.
Her career began in Los Angeles over 40 years ago, where her work with actress Tippi Hedren at the Shambala Preserve sparked a realization that would define her life’s work: art could be a powerful force for conservation. Since then, Anne has earned numerous national and international awards, including the prestigious Award of Excellence from the Society of Animal Artists. A Signature Artist Member, she is recognized at the highest level in the field of wildlife art.
Anne is also an active member of Artists for Conservation, exhibiting regularly in their International Exhibit of Nature in Art. Her work has been showcased globally, including exhibitions at the Louvre, as well as galleries in London, New York, Finland, Japan, Brazil, and beyond. Her art has been featured in major international exhibitions such as Explorers Against Extinction’s Sketch for Survival, where her work has been selected repeatedly since 2018.
In 2012, Anne and her husband, Jim Hart, founded Arts for Animals, a U.S.-based nonprofit that links creativity with conservation education. Through innovative, hands-on programs, Arts for Animals has reached more than 25,000 children worldwide, inspiring young people to draw endangered animals while learning the importance of protecting their natural habitats. Their work led to the creation of a regional Wildlife Conservation Center in Zimbabwe—now recognized by the government as a model for future centers—and partnerships across Africa and the South Pacific. Joining with Conservation education partners around the world, Arts for Animals helps connect conservation with creativity for thousands of students each year.
Today, Anne works from her studio on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain near New Orleans, while continuing to exhibit internationally. Over the past 45 years, her art has helped raise well over one million dollars for wildlife conservation efforts around the globe.
Anne remains deeply committed to sharing the beauty, spirit, and urgency of the wild—using art not only to inspire, but to make a measurable difference in the survival of our planet’s most threatened species.

Through her art, advocacy, and education, Anne E. London gives endangered species a voice—and ensures their stories are seen, felt, and remembered.

We invite you to explore Anne’s world, immerse yourself in the wilds of her imagination, and join her ongoing journey of art, conservation, and hope.
